D0 you see sustainability in your business?

Over the past several months, I have been having conversations with many people in the media tech space about sustainability.  The conversations have been terrific, and often lead to other conversations.  There is an amazing network of people who are actively engaged and tracking what is happening, or not, with sustainability in media tech.

The report will be a high-level output of what I’ve learned from speaking to these many industry leaders and their thoughts on how we can get media tech more aligned with a sustainability plan.

But I am not limiting myself to just the media tech space, because there is a lot to learn from other industries which are well ahead of media.

Take for example a conversation that I had with Martin Guillaume.  I recently reconnected with Martin, whom I met several years ago when he worked at IBM in London doing work in media consulting.  Martin recently launched a firm based in France called GreenPRAXIS.  It’s an interesting model that uses the power of technology (AI and data) with environmental experts to develop sustainable vegetation management solutions.  In one example, Martin explained to me how the French railway system spends a lot of money to keep weeds down alongside their tracks.  Rather than using toxic chemicals, GreenPRAXIS is advising on how to be more sustainable in tackling this problem by using biodynamic data that results in solutions that are lower operating costs, protect biodiversity, and support operational imperatives.  Take a look at this effort here:  https://en.greenpraxis.com/post/a-partnership-to-manage-vegetation-sustainably

I look forward to researching how the media industry can use a similar approach using AI and other data techniques to develop sustainability solutions.

These conversations will be the basis of my industry “temperature check” that I will be delivering shortly. You can order an advanced copy by signing up here: Kibo121 Sustainability Report
